It is matter of great pleasure to me to express my opinion about the Institute of Rural Development Management. When I came to know that in the M.U. Campus, an institution i.e.IRDM has been imparting professional education in |

the area of Rural Development Management, I became so much pleased. As all of us know that soul of India lies in villages and almost 70% of our population live in rural areas. Hence, it is a well known fact that dream of real growth of Indian economy can be converted into reality only when growth and all round development of rural India would take place. To be a part of this mission of the Govt., IRDM has been rendering its valuable contribution and transforming the youths to become successful Rural Development Managers. The course curriculum and other academic activities have been rationally devised to help the students becoming a well groomed challenge takers for the all round development of rural India.
I do hope that students of IRDM will be highly instrumental in achieving the national goal of ‘Fully Developed India.”
I wish all success to the students of IRDM.

The year 2001 was a significant year and complete break through for Deptt. of Sociology as well as Magadh University. When the infrastructure of the Institute of Rural Reconstruction and Development Management had been laid down in the campus of Magadh University, Bodh-Gaya. |
It is true that the well wishes of social science teachers and the cooperation of the then Vice-Chancellors, IRDM started its journey with 18 students in the first batch (2002-2004). 17 students completed the course successfully out of which 15 students got placement in national / international NGOs as well as in Government sector like Women Development Corporation etc. Gradually, the number of students increased, 40 in 2003.2005, 49 in 2004-2006 and 60 in 2005-2007 showing the growth of IRDM by its Hand-Head and Heart.
IRDM with two years master degree course is contributing magnificently in the management of rural society and community. The vision of IRDM lies in shaping the model development of backward community. Long way to go ,lots of hurdle to face but the whole team of IRDM is quite confident for the success and prosperity .Lets joine hands to build a new horizon in rural management education and devlopment
